Project Overview

Kalamata is a modern fine-dining restaurant based in Nairobi. I was hired to design and develop their official website as a freelance project. The goal was to reflect the restaurant’s elegant atmosphere, showcase their menu and services, and allow customers to easily reserve a table online. The site is fully responsive and optimized for performance across devices.

My Role

I handled the entire front-end development of the project—turning the client’s vision into a sleek, interactive, and functional website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Tailwind CSS. I also implemented key features like mobile navigation, reservation form linking, and smooth page transitions to improve the overall user experience.

The Impact

Before this, Kalamata had a weak online presence. This website now serves as their digital storefront, helping customers explore their space, view offerings, and book tables directly. It has improved the restaurant’s credibility and customer engagement, while also giving me valuable freelance experience and a professional project to add to my portfolio.
