What It Is

This Chrome extension allows users to visually bookmark or "pin" anything important on a webpage—like tasks, notes, or reminders—using customizable 3D-style pins (stars, pushpins, planets, etc.). Users can adjust pin color and opacity, and even drag them around for perfect placement. Whether you're researching, studying, or organizing a project, PinPoint makes it easy to visually track key elements without cluttering your bookmarks bar or relying on external note apps.

Why I Built It

I created PinPoint to improve how I study and work online. While switching between tabs and bookmarking tools, I realized I needed something faster and more visual—a way to mark things in the moment without breaking my flow. This project also allowed me to practice JavaScript, Chrome extension APIs, and build an interactive UI that adds real value. It’s part of my mission to create tools that boost productivity and feel fun to use.

The Problem it Solves

Most people use scattered tools—bookmarks, sticky notes, or third-party apps—to keep track of important content online. But these tools often break focus, aren’t customizable, and don’t live on the page. PinPoint solves this by letting users visually organize content right where it lives, with pins they can move, customize, and interact with instantly. It helps students, researchers, and busy web users stay focused and keep their digital workspaces cleaner.
